| “the documentary within the documentary” on Micah P. Hinson |

director Carlotta Corradi assistant director Silvia Guglielmi shooting and editing Carlotta Corradi
The young singer, composer and musician of country noir, Micah P. Hinson, in 2007 relocates to Rome for love. In between one date and another of his European tour, he plays for his friends, at home, at Campo de’ Fiori and at Ponte Sisto. Yet, due to an unexpected event the documentary takes a different turn. Accidentally, his girlfriend discovers that Micah has a second parallel life that she ignored, which includes another girlfriend in Texas. Just like in a film, once he has been discovered, Micah packs his bags in a rush, takes his guitar and flies to Texas, leaving without the blink of an eye the Roman girlfriend, the new friends and, obviously, the documentary on his life... With the already filmed shots (which include several concerts) and a little more documentation, which was added after the dramatic surprise, this work on Micah becomes a documentary within the documentary. In the film there are two unreleased songs. The first one is “Oh Silvia”, which was going to come out and give the title to his latest EP (“A dream of her”), but for obvious sentimental reasons was never released. The second is a song which is composed at the piano in front of the camera with no operator.
